The Choir’s 67th Annual concert was held on the 26th April, 2008 in Tabernacle Chapel, Morriston. Our guests were the Leigh Orpheus Male Voice Choir from Southend on Sea, who performed an entertaining and varied repertoire ranging from 16th century madrigals, to classical, show and contemporary music. Their Musical Director, since 1990 is David Clark and their accompanist is Janet Walker. The Morriston Ladies Choir programme this year had a religious overtone as we have recently been on tour to Tuscany in May, and many of our venues required a religious programme. As in other years, Morriston Ladies Choir performed under the baton of Musical Director Anthony Williams and Deputy Conductor Carole Edwards and accompanied by Maria Cotton our deputy accompanist. Long Service Awards were presented to members of the choir during the concert, Bronze award (10 years) to Sharon Davies, Silver award (15 years) to Patricia Ace, Mair Henwood, Valerie Howells and Gwladys Thomas. Gold Award (20 years) to Jan Walters and Life award (25 years) to Jan Phillips.
